We had 29 people come out and participate , several people who donated money, and of course several generous donations toward our silent auction!
As a new not for profit organization still trying to establish itself in Peterborough, it can be a struggle to keep up financially with the cost of running a business - equipment maintenance, rent, supplies etc- while keeping the cost of a membership at a reasonable rate - and supplying the necessary equipment (boxing gloves, skipping ropes and so on ). The money raised from our fundraiser, will help with these costs AND help to start our Youth Program that we are running in conjunction with the Optimist club of Ennismore.
Since opening, Jay has given his time helping with a youth event in Toronto and we both spent some time teaching a boxing intro at Fleming College. We have big plans to give back to the community in 2019!
